What is WMail?

WMail is completely free and open source desktop client app for Gmail and Google Inbox developed by Thomas Beverley. Besides Linux, it is also available for Windows and Mac OSX.

Installing WMail in Linux

Installation of WMail is like a piece of cake. I am using Ubuntu 16.04 but the process for installation remains the same for all other Linux.

1. At first, download WMail (32bit or 64 bit based on your system architecture) from here.
2. Once the download is finished, navigate through the terminal to that directory where you downloaded your file(usually in Downloads Folder) and type the following command in your terminal:
   [rara_box box_color='success-box']$ sudo dpkg -i WMail_2_0_0_linux_x86_64.deb[/rara_box]
   Here the filename(WMail_2_0_0_linux_x86_64.deb) that I used may differ later in the future.
3. Now enter the password and it will finish the installation.

Setting WMail in Linux

Once the installation is finished, launch the application. You can either search and launch manually or launch from the terminal with the following command:

[rara_box box_color='success-box']/opt/wmail-desktop/WMail[/rara_box]

1. Click on Add Inbox Mailbox.
2. A new dialog box will appear. Now enter your Email address and Password.
   
3. Then it will Request for Permission. Click on Allow and your Gmail account will be added.

You can also add as many accounts as you want as mentioned above. Here's a screenshot of how it looks.

Wrapping Up

WMail is very clean and interactive desktop client app for your Gmail account. It helps you to manage your multiple Gmail accounts easily, shows you notifications so that you don't any important emails, provides customization features with custom CSS and JavaScript and much more. Also navigating through emails and replying to them is also much easier and save lots of time.

If you use several Gmail then you should probably try WMail. I illustrated to use WMail in Linux but you can download and setup even in Windows and Mac OSX. The only installation process will differ but setting up WMail will be similar as shown above.
